Hunting Wild Doves

Series Title: African Village Life

Summary:

An essential film for the study of the daring, skill, and bravery of the young men of the Dogon tribe. The agile young men of this black African culture scale the steep, sheer cliffs in search of the doves which nest in its craggy pockets. Their lives are dramatically suspended high above their on-looking elders by the strength of the rope handymen from the bark of the Baobab tree by a fellow tribesman.
